Upgrading from 3.02 to 3.03 oec

I have a newbie question. I have 3.02 firmware and want to upgrade to 3.03 oec. Can I just upgrade directly or do I have to downgrade again to 1.5? Also I saw something about an autoinstaller. Is this recommended? Thanks for any help.

ugh if its official sony 3.02 upgrade to 3.03 and then use unpatched GTA LCS to downgrade to 1.5 and then upgrade to 3.03 oe-c or whatever

use hex's winstaller if u want to use an autoinstaller, its in the stickies http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/460892

No it's not the official sony firmware it's the custom one. I think it' 3.02 oeb. Sorry for the confusion.

Which firmware do you reccomend if I'm only interested in playing iso's and ps1 games and don't care about customization?

the only firmwares that can support ps1 games are the custom ones. which can customize anyways. i recommend 3.03 oe-c or 3.10 oe-a, but i use 3.03 oe-c myself because it has better compatability i think (and u can customize it a bit more than 3.10 oe-a bt it doesn't matter for u i guess
