You say you did a clean install of Vista, but you are showing a Nero 6 interface. Was this really a clean install, or did you try Nero 6 first after you installed Vista?
Quote:
Using interface version: 6.3.1.4
If you had Nero 6 on there first, you may need to uninstall Nero 6 and 7 and start over.

Your burner is badly in need of a firmware update, latest version is 1.20 from here http://wwwbsc.pioneer.co.jp/product-e/ib...R108_FW120B.EXE

No big deal about previous version of 6 appearing but run this clean tool, http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/en/Clean_Tools.html it will take care of it.
On a personal note I am NOT impressed with 7.7.5.1

Your log shows you are using 7.7.5.1 which handles vista, so why the change..the clean tool link has been given to you..just run it..no need to uninstall ANYTHING unless you wish to revert to a previous version of Nero 7, that is one before 7.7.5.1.

Versions from 7.5.9.0 are approved for Vista....all you need for Nero 7 is a serial number, which you already have.

As I said in my original post it wont pose a problem, leave it be and just update your firmware.

Do NOT run the Nero clean tool

I have never experienced any problems updating firmware so I cannot explain what is going wrong with yours. Hopefully someone with more experience than me will soon come along and assist.
