Is it possible to install or backup just my current Windows OS directly onto another hard drive? Especially wondered if it was able to do it via 'click-drag' from the main OS folder's window to the other HD folder's window.

No it won't work, you need to get the setup of the disk correct.
You need a software such as Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost, this will copy everything including the file system.

No Problem.
If you use Acronis, there is a 15 day trial, which should be enough to get the transfer done.

Quick backup of specific files ? Initiate backup of specific files without being in the Acronis True Image application
