I have done alot of looking around and I want to make sure I get this right. I have a fresh store bought PSP with firmware 2.71 straight out of the box. I want to play playstation 1 games on my PSP can someone lead me to the detailed instructions on what I need to do. I am assuming I need one of dark alex open edition versions. So here are my questions so far:

1. Can I play playstation 1 games on my psp and is there any specific firmware updates I need to do this?

2. Alot of the "How To" instructions are for people upgrading from a previous OE version, when upgrading from a factory 2.71 version do I need to downgrade to 1.5 first, and then upgrade?
