GeForce 6200 to CRT TV

I've got a GeForce 6200 with a breakout box (s-video, composite out connectors) and I bought a Y audio cable for my sound card. I'm wanting to play AVI movies on my tv. I'm using Windows XP and I have the NVIDIA drivers installed. Do I have to use Media Center to do this? Or can I just hook up these outputs to my CRT TV and play them?
