Anyone has any idea which one is better than the other? Also, how do they compare with the - counter part?

Thank you very much.

HD? Do you mean HP?

I'd take the ritek ridata's. Plus format may code as ricohs, but pretty decent. Dash will most likely be Riteks. Either way,you should be ok.

If it's HP,then their 4x +RWs will code as Philips media. I'm not sure if they make dash RW's. Philips media is on the lower end of the quality spectrum. HP uses some lower quality manufacturers.

Ritek DVD-RW (RITEK000V11A)

All ritek manufactured MID codes, except for ricohs. For RW media,I've burned Memorex 4x +RW's that were Ricohjpnw01 and were ok.Some people do have issues with Ritek-G05,but the rest are very good.

Dash or Plus?

What's your burner's brand name and model#? Some of them may favor a certain format.Same applies to your stand alone players. Those drives will decide which format they like.

RW backups are trickier on stand alone players. They'll be harder to recognize them: No disc/Dirty Disc/Wrong region/Wrong format/Illegal disc- all are some of the errors displayed by stand alone players when they have a format issue.

I booktyped mine so they had a higher compatability rate.Only the plus format can be set to booktype to dvd-rom. Post back the burner info and maybe you have bitsetting capability to booktype?

RW's are great to practice around with, but keep an eye for the no disc error on all the players that you plan on playing those backups.
