OKk guys this is a long and please keep the laughter to a minimum. I feel stupid enough as it is.
I have a TGE Group MP3000 MP3 player that is malfunctioning and according to youguys I need to upgrade the firmware. Only thing is it didn't work! Heres what went wrong First off the instructions were a bit off..
2. Find Setup.exe in file and double click it with left button on the mouse to start installation (just follow the steps to finish the installation).
There is no setup.exe in this file. There is only
bootmanager.sp
hostlink.sp
hostrcs
regdll.dll
resource
stmpres.dll
stmpsys.sb
stunicow.dll
stupdaterapp
unistall
updater.sp
w98eject
I tried using the stupdaterapp and following the rest of the instructions.
"Take out the battery and press the PLAY button, remember don't let it go. Connect the player to computer with USB."
But all that happened was 20 minutes of me with a cramping hand holding the start button with the program unsuccessfully tried to find the program. I even tried to use Hardware wizard. Nothing. So I put the battery back in and nothing.
Ok so I go back to the website and download the original driver. The setup worked but nothing else happened. There weren't any instructions on installing it and I did what the setup said but my MP3 player STILL won't work. I went to SigmaTel MSCN Audio Player in the START and clicked Format but every space there was blank. I had the MP3 player plugged in and then I tried again with the start button pushed. And again with the battery out and the play button pushed.
Nothing I've tried works and I can't afford to buy another MP3 player. I sent an email to the customer service of TGE Group but I've recieve no response. Does anyone here know how to fix this???
