Anyone knows what Flash Agent does?

Ive been reading up on Flash Agent things, and im not quite sure if its a useful thing. It requires a flash in ur psp, and it can cause bricks. But why take a risk like that? What does flash agent do? Is it really worth it?

flash agent can flash custom gameboots, themes, icons etc to your psp. i personally dont use any sort of flasher because of the semi-brick worrys but instead just overwrite existing files in the flash0 memory using the recovery function on custom firmwares
