Cyclowiz / backups troubleshooting

I recently installed my new Cyclowiz chip and have tried burning on several different formats but the Wii still doesn't recognize the discs at all. Here's what I know and have tried. Any help would be much appreciated:
*The cylowiz is installed, although I haven't hooked it up to disable/update yet. When I plug in the machine and turn it on, the green light on the Cyclowiz flashes green repeatedly.
*I've tested the system with a normal retail disc and it works fine.
*I have several backups that I just downloaded from reputable torrent sites, as I don't have a DVD burner powerful enough to back-up my own. They are all 4.37 gigs in size and end in '.iso'
* i've tried burning to Maxell DVD-R, Verbatim DVD-R and I even tried a Maxell DVD-RW but always receive a 'cannot read disc' message from the Wii.
*I'm using a Toshiba Satellite laptop for burning, which burns at a maximum of 4x. I've tried 1x, 2x, and 4x.

If anyone can see any obvious errors i'm making, I'd love a hand figuring this thing out.

To save you some time, the problem is not yet fixable but there are work-arounds. Best thing to do is buy a different chip. Either the wiinja or wiikey.
