hey, i just downloaded the final fantasy 7 ps1 game to play on my psp.

supposedly it was already modified to work on my psp, and the way it is set up is there is a folder , called final fantasy cd1, that is to be placed in psp/game. i've done that, and whenever i try going to it on my psp, it says corrupted?

is it because my psp is not 1.5?i recently just updated it to the new firmware, 3.03 e or something, and im able to play backed up iso's and so on and so forth. so...is this game meant for 1.5 only, and should i downgrade to play it?

btw, in the final fantasy cd1 folder that i put in my psp/game folder, the files are "eboot.pbp" and "keys.bin", thats it, and the eboot file is like 700 megabytes alone. its not really an iso...maybe i should try making it into one...any ideas?

OH MAN, it says i need 3.02-OE B, but i have 3.03-OE C.....is there anything i can do to change this? can i downgrade back to 1.5 and then just upgrade straight to 3.02-OE B?please..help

Lexus

hmmm, no you do not need to downgrade. you should be able to play it. im guessing you havent fiddled around with your opening_plugin.rco. if you have you need the original one. but i would try switching kernels through recovery mode.

lol if you dont know recovery mode im guessing you dont know much about oe firmware. ( the firmware you upgraded to). if you ever fiddle about with your psp and something bad happens which causes a brick, you can enter recovery mode and downgrade straight back down to 1.5. you can access recovery mode by switching on your psp whilst holding the R trigger. when you are in recovery mode go to CONFIGURATION, then go down to GAME FOLDER HOMEBREW, if that is at 3.03 kernel try switching it to 1.50 kernel. if you are still having no luck let me know.

by the way you defanitely havent fiddled with the opening_plugin.rco??

nope, i definitely didn't mess around with the opening_plugin.rco.

i just switched to 1.5 kernel mode, and it STILL isn't working..

what could be the problem? maybe i should downgrade back to 1.5 firmware, and upgrade to 3.02-OE B? but how would i downgrade? and where would i find that specific upgrade firmware?

Some games will not work unless the name the folder which has the game in, is renamed to the game tag number. SCUS94163 for instance if its the NTSC version. Then try... if your running 3.03 OE-A or above.. then you should be able to play ps1 games on the psp.
I use 3.03 OE-C and works everytime.

Sometimes there can be more Game tag codes. Im guessing your using the one from your own disc? Or have you got this from other means.. as the game tag could be wrong. If this isnt the case and you have done everything else correctly. it could be just be one of those games that game will not work.

I cant get worms or track and field to work. No matter what i do. Even though they are on a list where it says they do work..

You could try it again, but leave the compression out, this may work..

If its been downloaded -
US Version - SLUS00551
US Version (dual Shock) - SLUS00747 -
PAL Version - SLES00969, SLES00970, SLES00971

try renaming the folder with these, could work..
