can't get wiikey setup disk to work. please help

I ran the wiikey setup disk so that I could play GameCube backups without a GameCube controller. I changed the region setting with the setuup disk and saved it. but I still cannot get either one of the wii controllers to work for my GameCube backup.

What am I doing wrong?

You need a gamecube controllers for gamecube games

the wii controllers will not work

I thought be using the mod chip setup disk It would enable me to use the wii controllers.Thats what it says on the wiikey website.

Well even if it could, i dont see how you would play gamecube games with the wii controller, since the wii controller doesnt even have half the buttons the gamecube controller does.

What that page is saying is the later versions of the setup disc can be accessed by using the wii reset button to navigate any menus etc insted of the old method of using a gamecube controller.
