With the ending of GOW2 being 'The Beginning Of The End' that is a very blunt statement for a part 3 to come for the PS3 I'd imagine.
to those who have finished GOW2, did you also have one hell of a time with the button combo when Kratos 'put down my arms' to Zeus??
i had one heck of a time with that for some reason, took me about 20 min to get through it, even with the correct combo it just failed to work and Zeus killed me....
9 hours 54 min to the last save point, to the end of the game from there is about 10 min so you can say 10 hours, but i do allot of looking around and find all the extras in the game, i managed to only get 18 or the 20 eyes though :( I'm going back through it now to find the six urns, i tried to play with the costume of the fish (called Cod of War) but it looked to f'd up so i went with the warrior costume instead. there are 5 or 6 other costumes too but i haven't unlocked everything yet and some of them come from the 'Titan Challenge'
After seeing what happened with Fight for NY for the PS2 to ICON for the PS3 and 360 I hope that they do not ruin a great game like God of War on these so called Next Gen consoles. I own a xbox 360 with many games and I rather play GOW2 on my ps2 any day. I can't beleive Icon was stripped away from finishing moves, multiplayer and less fighting moves. Looks fantastic but where's the gameplay? Anyways, just wanted to share my opinion on that so GOW3 for PS3, only if it stays the same just with better graphics!
after playing GOW2 to the end three times now (looking for all the bonus items) i whole heartedly believe they intentionally cut part of this game out with anticipation of the PS3, the game is actually shorter then the first one and leaves allot to be desired in the story line. after you complete it you can watch all the FMVs in a 'story line' where they all play back to back and it's just not as great a story as the original, which i ripped all the FMVs and made to a DVD :)
How is this one shorter than the first? The first I beat in just over 8 hours my time through, and 5:30 subsequent times because I knew all the puzzles. It took me 10 hours to beat GoW2 first time through and 7-8 hours subsequent times.
GOW2 has allot more time wasted in FMV but actual game play is allot less, after completing it the first time through you can bypass 99% of the FMVs and to me it's a much shorter game play, i even went so far as to challenge myself to a hit count contest to try and get more fun from the game but at 10 thousandish my fingers got tired :(
yeah i saw that picture on the other thread you made, pretty insane that. Im not to good at combo-ing so I just get couple hundred when I use rage of the titans in a mob. But that is why I said 7-8 hours when redoing the game, 7 hours if i skip the cutscenes, 8 if i dont.
maybe i need to go back and play GOW again, i played it constantly completing God mode hundreds of times (i loved that game) but i got burnt out and haven't played it in about a year now so maybe it's just in my mind it's a longer game play.
i was (still am) disappointed in GOW2 as it didn't present any real challenge, i didn't find any of the so called puzzles to be a challenge to figure out, most of them i walked straight through first go around. and now two weeks after its release, I'm pretty much done playing it. and I'd be willing to say I'm about as quick with my fingers on the button combos as anyone and the final battle with Zeus still cheats me regularly, i hit the right button and even get the conformation sound but it still bypasses the move and he kills me at least a couple times.
