i currently have a brand new psp wich from what i understand did wrong to update it to version 2.82. i am scared to mess with the firmware on it as i think i will brick it and wont know what i am doing. is there anyone around south florida that can help me. i am willing to pay. i live in west palm beach fl. thanks

if you have 2.82 official sony firmware the only way at the moment to downgrade your psp is to upgrade to official sony firmware 3.03 and then downgrade to 1.5
to downgrade from 3.03 you will need a original umd of gta liberty city stories ,the unpatched version of Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories.
The unpatched version of the game that contains the 2.0 update.

also see which motherboard you have some downgraders support all motherboards ,others downgraders don't
if you have a pink psp its a ta-086 motherboard

Thank you very much that is an awesome tutorial. do you know which is the best place to find one that shows me how to upgrade my psp to version 3.03 I have found some that say contradicting stories and I do not want to brick my psp. thanks again awesome info

download this and start the program

click "upgrading" then read the text ,then click "firmware 2.81 or more" and read the instructions and see the screenshots, then click " #1 upgrade me to 3.03! i want to downgrade " it should start the download of the 3.03 firmware upgrade

its better to have the battery fully charged and i think you can't have a umd in the drive
