I recently purchased this drive and it has worked very well for several weeks. But I started to have burn failures that I suspect is a drive-related problem. Am using Image Burn and Clone DVD2 and both report the same I/O error message: after several minutes, I receive an error message to check the media. I use Taiyo Yuden disks from a reputable dealer, so I am sure that it isn't because of bad media. I would appreciate any suggestions....thanks in advance.

Have you tried updating the firmware?I know TY dvds are the best out there,that's the only media i use too,but try to see if you get the same error with another brand of media or even TY ones but not from the same batch you're using right now.Personally i don't think there's better media than Taiyo Yuden(except Verbatim which comes close)but it could be a bad batch.
