FFXII problem help plz

hey..im playin FFXII,and i came to a point called the thicita uplands.
i must go to Archadies,so when i go out of the Thicita uplands by the orange crystal and go in the other area the screen goes black whats normal,whats not normal it stays black and freezes.i can hear the sound but no picture.
any ideas?

Mine goes black every now and again, but eventually starts working again. Have you waited a long time to see if it comes back?

Take the disk out and makes sure there isn't any scratches or smudges or anything like that on the disk that may keep your playstation from reading the disc.
