How to view shared files on PDA

Is there a way to view the shared files on my network without having to install anything on my PC?
I have found software that allows me to view the files on one PC but a copy of the program must be on the PC and since I use my Palm T/X at my Mom's house, My House and my cuzins house I can't install the software on there PC's because they don't really want it on there if they don't use it, but it is easier to pull up a pic or file if I can access there shared rather than them emailing me then I download it from my email while I sit there.
