delighted with my sony ns76 dvd player/w2000 tv.for HDMI output from the dvd player ,i have a choice of the above two.
i am familiar with rgb,and yet the default is YCbCr -my questions-
which provides the best colour seperation?
should i stick with rgb or is YCbCr a step up?

Here's a simple explanation and others can chime in and give more ideas:

YCbCr and RGB are just different colorspaces used by your equipment. DVD is inherently component YCbCr while the display is inherently RGB. A conversion has to happen either at the DVD player or at the display. You're just given the choice of whether you want the DVD player or the display to do the colorspace conversion for you. Depending on your display's video processing it may be better to let your DVD player output YCbCr. On the off chance that your DVD player does the conversion better it may be a good idea to try both settings and see which one looks better on your display.

I just keep the output at YCbCr and let the display handle the signal.
