Is labeling your dvd's with permanent marker safe.

Depends on the marker.
Some markers have inks that will seep into the dye lair of a dvd and damage it, so i suggest using a special cd/dvd marker just to be sure.

I have burnt DVDs here marked with sharpie. They still play fine so ide say sharpie is pretty safe ^.^

I USED SHARPIE PERMANENT MARKER SINCE WINDOWS 95 DAYS
No problems with my burned disks..
i just tested a disk i made in 1998 using a sharpie..works great..

@ craig : nope, different type of ink.
But sharpies are fine indeed, just cheapo markers that might cause problems.
Hence me saying "depends on the marker".

Good one Ireland.
One of their albums actually came with a rolling paper that was the size of the albumn itself. Let's just say it was put to good use in Korea in 1972-73.
