~basically~ the game will look messed up if you play one from a different region.
us=ntsc
jap=ntsc j
-ntsc j will look fine in the us [and versa-vice] as long as it's possible to load it in the first place (modchip anyone?)
uk,au=pal
others=unimportant =P

/edit: in the future please refrain from using titles that are... err... ambiguous/unspecific [ex.: i need help, help plz, im a n00b, etc.]; i'm sure you would have gotten help faster had the title conveyed a little [or all] of what you wished for help with. ok.
