Recode multiple main movies to a single MP4 file?

I am trying to convert two DVDs, each with two main titles, into a single item I can play on a PC, without compressing it further.

This probably means a Nero Digital file rather than a quad-sided DVD ;-)

I have the VOBs on my hard drive.

When I import the two main movie files from each of the two VIDEO_TS folders, and use Nero Recode to produce an MP4 file (with fit to target deselected), I get four MP4 files rather than one.

Is there a way to tell Nero Recode to combine these into one MP4 file? Or to generate a playlist that will transition from one MP4 to the next seamlessly?

I tried creating a simple M3U playlist file that pointed to each of the 4 MP4 files, and that worked OK, except that:
1) When I play it in Windows Media Player 10 the player goes back from full screen to regular window when it transitions from one MP4 to the next
2) When I play it in Nero Vision it briefly displays the Nero Vision splash screen (think large RED window) when it transitions from one MP4 to the next.

I'm doing this rather than simply playing the IFO files because I want it to be as easy as possible for family members to play ("which IFO file do I need to double-click?")

Edit: One more question - when I play back VOBs or DVDs Nero Vision offers to resume playback from where I left off. It doesn't do that for MP4 files. Is there a way to make it do that? It's such a useful feature I'm surprised.
