A copy of the Ulead Moviefactory (MF) software came with my Hauppauge WinTV 250 video card. The MF has three main components (none of which was properly documented). Anyway, the second component of MF is ?Edit.?

In this mode, you open a file, say an NTSC MPEG2 file, and play it on the miniature screen. Then, you can convert this to PAL format. It takes a long time to do this. I did this and didn?t see any perceptible difference in quality.

The ?Edit? mode also allowed me to convert an SVCD-compliant MPEG2 file to a DVD-compliant file. No loss of quality that I could see.

If you have this software, all you have to do is point and click.
