Hey guys; since someday [as in maybe 6 months or so] I'm gonna upgrade my processor; I was wondering whether this processor would be compatible w/ my mobo. I have a MSI K9N4 SLI-f; and my future processor is here:

...Now; since it's an opty; from what I remember; those were originally meant for servers, right? But the funny thing is; I have been hearing of ppl. dropping them into their ordinary machines and being able to OC them LIKE MAD----AS IN 3GHZ OR BETTER KIND OF MAD


..sooo; I'm just wondering if since this a socket am2; do you think it would work with this mobo??? [I haven't seen anyone talk about using an opty w/ this board yet.]

thats the first time i have seen a am2 opty but thats what it says it is.

check your mobo manufactors webby to see if you can flash your bios to make yours compatible.

You might as well get a 5200+ or 5600+ then, price difference isn't huge, and can be OC'd higher than an Opteron.
