The Wiikey is supposed to work with all gcn games but so far the only game i've been able to play is Pikmin. I have a PAL Wii and have downloaded a bunch of gcn NTSC games, but most of them haven't worked. I've burned them onto Memorex DVD-R using imgburn at 2x.

Has anyone got a list of gcn games that work with the Wiikey. The ones i've tried so far are:

Pikmin 2: Just goes to a black screen
Mario Power Tennis: First few screens come up then text telling me an error has occured and restart my Gamecube
Mario Party 5: Black Screen
Pikmin: Works perfectly.

I've noticed on the Wiikey website that they 'work partially without swapping'. What might swapping entail?

swapping would be using something like a Freeloader or action Replay. I have an NTSC-U Wii and with the three backups that I've tried, I have run into only one problem and I think that it might have been a bad rip but I'm not sure. It's a backup of Pikmin 2 (NTSC-U) that gives me a problem. During the first movie sequence. It compleatly crashes my Wii. Other then that I haven't had a problem.

Try a Freeloader if you have access to it.

The other swap method is to put in an original GC game from your region and wait for the Wii to recognize it. Go onto the Disc Channel and very quickly press eject, start on the screen, and put the NTSC game into the system. This is how I was playing Battlestadium D.O.N. on my Wii before I got my Wiikey.

I downloaded a Wii Hack Pack (31.01.2007), this has a swap disk for the Wiinja for both PAL and NTSC (2 separate disks), so i'm going to try that when i get home this evening. It reckons it plays both formats of GNC on the Wii.

Now i've just gotta dig out the coasters i've chucked in the bin and see if they work again

I can confirm 100% that the following games work with the GCOS boot disk made for the wiinja:

Mario Party 5
Pikmin 2
Mario Power Tennis

I just chose to boot them in NTSC with the Y button and they all worked no problem.

Woo, chuffed!!!
