Hi,
I'm having trouble burning and playing NTSC Gamecube games on my NTSC Wii with Wiikey. I downloaded gcm/iso files, ran them through fstfix "f" or "g" options and burned at 4x speed using clonecd and imgburn. i can load all my games but i get disc read errors during the game, such as during the character select screen or after a match is over. Games i tried are smash brothers, donkey konga, donkey konga 2, mario strikers. I'm using Taiyo Yuden 4x DVD-R's and my burner does not allow me to burn slower than 4x speed. i have a lite-on shw-1635s. should i try better media? if so, what should i use? verbatim dvd-r's? 8x? 16x? is there something wrong with my technique? any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

WiiKey is currently having issues with GC games that need the audiofix. The games you posted however should run fine. I would try burning them with imgburn at 8x unshrinked. Apparently newer burners have better results when burned at the rated speed for that particular DVD.

Edit: oops didnt realize your TY was 4x. Are your Wii games running fine with these settings? And where the heck did you find 4x TY, I cant find them anymore.

well then try using imgburn and burn the games unshrinked. if it still doesnt work then maybe you got a bad dump. I would check the forums where you got it to see if others are having the same problem.

hmm..i've tried imgburn with unshrinked image files. iused the latest ver. 2.3.0.0. i guess it could be my image file. the DRE's occur at random times during the games though. like in smash brothers, it gave me an error during the character select screen once and right after a match another time. has anyone been able to play gamecube bakups flawlessly? if so, what brand media and what programs are you using? thanks!

i don't owned a wiikey, but a wiinja deluxe. In my opinion the wiinja deluxe is better in 2 ways. First, all gamecube worked perfectly fine with no dre(with audiofix). Second, they have better stealth mode, from what i heard the wiikey had weak stealth mode. That's why i changed my mind from wiikey to wiinja deluxe. So user2912, the problem could've have been the audiofix like jspot said, the disc you're using it top class, the best, so it fine. The problem is the audiofix, and hopefully a update would fixed it.

I'm sure you havent tried Ikaruga which is an audio streaming game. I have not seen one person claiming that this has worked with a wii + wiikey setup.
