how good of a brand is memorex? is it normal for memorex dvd's to not work on a ps2? Thanks.

Memorex brands are poor quality, in my opinion. They have a high rate of errors and do not last very long. The best media is Taiyo Yudens or Verbatims. Sonys are alright, but these two are the best. For even more comparison, I would browse the DVD Media section of this site and read some of the reviews of others concerning Memorex. IMO....stay away from them!

this media guide is not perfect but it's an indication of that's good and what's not! Rule of thumb: go for the MIJs..... Made In Japan! Taiyo Yuden, Sony, Maxell, Fuji.... make sure it's MIJ on the label of the box or spindle or buy Verbatim..... top notch but made in Taiwan/Singapore.

For movies Use Verbatim for music memorex is OK I guess they had great advertisement you know is it Memorex or is it live. That kinda stuck in everbody minds but with all my coasters with Memorex on them, that is what is stuck in my mind
