CycloWiz and wiikey
Both say they are upgradeable ..
Is one better than the other?
From what I have read who knows people will argue this no matter what.
What matters to me is being able to read back ups 100% and it not goofing up the system at all.

But what I want to know is what exactly does upgradeable mean?

Is it just to fix compatibility issues with backups?

That mean some day SOON? Will we be able to have
Wii homebrews ie Emulators and stuff using the same CHIP

Be Really nice to be able to connect a Hard drive to it.
Or be able to use a 2-4 GB SD card to store homebrew?s, emulator?s and backups

Or even make ISO?s
or even 8 GB SD card someday if it can even use that size

Is that even possible?

Back up of the Virtual Console games?

Any thoughts on this?

dude, read the "discussion thread for wii modchips" at the top of the thread list. We've beaten that dead horse too many times.

Upgradeable means a lot of things. It means that you can reflash the chip with a newer firmware by dvd when it is released by the manufacturer of the chip. There are several reasons why you'd want to do that.

1. Nintendo might block the mod with upgrades to the OS and then the company would have to find a new way around it and send out an upgrade. (happened with xbox 360)

2. More features like homebrew could be a possibility in the future. An upgrade could make this possible

3. Additional compatability with different media types.

4. More compatability with different region games.

I could go on all day guessing what the future might hold but we just don't know. You want an upgradeable chip so whatever they come up with, you can take advantage of with an upgrade or two.
