How do you hack a Nintendo Wii?

whats all this about a modchip?

there is nothing such as hack a wii , because u didn't specify what u want

second thing : a ModChip is a device u connect to the internals of your console to allow you to play backup games and pirated material as well as homebrew and making your console region free

They only really have Drive Chips out for the Wii atm. No REAL MODCHIP.

However this drivechip does allow you to play backups of Wii Games and GC Games. It also allows you to play most Wii IMPORTS and all GC Imports.

You can use GC Homebrew on the wii, such as their DivX player etc.


Its pretty neato fantastik!!

Id recommend the WiiKEY chip, over others that are out there.

The WiiKEY seems to have a bigger 'community following' then the cyclowiz or the wininja. Also the quality of the chip is quite good.

I grabbed my WiiKEY + Opening tool for $37.84 + shipping at http://www.americanxboxmodchips.com/wiikey.htm with coupon code 10off... seems to be the best deal out there... for now anyways.


You also have to watch out for people selling WiiKEY Clones, there are alot out there.


I assume they will have many more 'hacks' and 'mods' for the Wii in the next coming months... as the modding is still in its early stages.

I cannot wait for a FULL out MODCHIP for the wii

A Modchip, a portmanteau of 'Modification Microchip', is a device used to circumvent the digital rights management of many popular game consoles, including those made by Microsoft (Xbox series), Sony (PlayStation series), and Nintendo (GameCube, Wii) for the purposes of playing backup, imported, pirated, or homebrew games and/or applications. They are used mostly on systems that are CD/DVD-based due to the availability and low cost of blank media such as CD-Rs and DVD+/-Rs.

So all the chips out right ARE modchips. Just because they don't play homebrew does NOT disqualify them from being a modchip by definition. Long before there even was such a thing as homebrew there were chips made for the playstation 1 that ONLY allowed you to play backups and they were also called modchips. Anything that allows you to circumvent the consoles built in security for playing anything other than the factory stamped, manufactures discs is a modchip.

Either you seem to be really lazy, or you seem to be a troll who is just intentionally asking questions that have been answered hundreds of times already. Truthfully, its more likely the latter.
