I can not seem find the answer to this problem.
Used Shrink 2.3. With the higest compression the files where still too big to fit on the one DVD. So, I eliminated the dolby audio and left the DTS audio remaining. Burned the DVD with Nero to both a MINUS and PLUS DVD.
The DVD played back fine with DTS selected in the menu on both the SONY burner AND the ACER DVD player in the computer. The audio will NOT playback in any of stand alone DVD players. Any clues??
Thanks..

You MUST have a DTS decoder to play DTS audio. You should keep the dolby because it will play no matter what.
V9 PS2, flip top, SMD, DVDLoader
Pioneer 107, ritek g05
DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, Nero

Yes, AC3 is part of the Dolby encoding. So as suggested Strip out DTS and retain the Dolby audio. For playback "anywhere" keep files w/Dolby Stereo as minimum
Good Luck.

Agree with woody2k.....
Most standalones WILL play DTS, however if your TV has not got a DTS decoder or you are not plumbing the audio through an Amp - you will hear nothing....
Most TV's will accept AC3 6 ch audio and downmix this into 2 ch stereo - thus giving you audio.....
So the best selection when using DVD Shrink is to select AC3 6CH audio to KEEP and remove the rest......
I have an amp, so I keep the DTS where applicable, otherwise I just choose the 6ch....
...............PIO is no go, DMA all the way...............
Beware of the Pixies - they move in over night and turn your life upside down

Only select what your standalone can play. Mine can play DTS 6 and 4ch so I can select either audio streams and it will play fine. It sounds like your standalones will not play DTS due to it not having a decoder, so stick with 6 or 3ch.

Most stand alone DVD players will play DTS audio, but your reciever must have a DTS decoder built in. Most new recievers have both but if your reciever is a couple of years old it might not have a DTS decoder so you won't be able to hear the DTS track.
So if your not sure if your reciever has DTS then it most likely doesn't. Look on the front of your reciever and DVD player and see if it has a DTS logo on it, if it does have it on both then you can play DTS audio.
