Hi!Does anyone have any idea if these dual layer discs have or will have the same media id as the verbatim DVD+R DL.Reason is because i've ordered two spindles of 50 discs(total 100 discs)and on the spindle it's written the name of the company which is Mitsubishi Kagaku Media Co.Ltd,Made in Singapore.I think these are unbranded discs.I know that the verbatim dual layer discs are coded MKM and they are the best of the best in dual layer discs. So does anyone have any idea if these discs will be of the same top quality as the verbatim(as it's the same company who make the verbatim discs)?I'm getting them much cheaper than the verbs(maybe because they are unbranded ones),nearly 54 dollars for a spindle of 50 discs and the verbs are much more expensive than that.

Thanks.

P.S:Here's a link where i think you can have a look on the discs i'm talking about.I've ordered two of this same spindle.

The discs will have the same MID as Verbatim because MKM is the owner of Verbatim and has the stampers created for them. As for quality, that is not possible to say. It may be possible that this production did not meet Verbatim quality standards--there are nearly 100 different specifications for DVDs to meet--and the MID code number is no indication of quality at all. It just identifies the stamper used (unless the stamper is counterfeit, as sometimes happens with very cheap discs.)

It is possible that these are factory seconds, but you might also have gotten a good deal. Only using them will tell you if they work well or not.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply and info JoeRyan. You are right about what you said and the only way to be sure if it's a good deal or not is only when i'm going to use them.
In fact they will be used more specifically to burn xbox 360 games,i was using TDK(coded Ricohjpn)all this time, which has given me success but most people say that the verbatims are the best, which i would agree with them. But unfortunately the verbs are far too expensive,i've ordered one spindle of 20 discs at svp uk which costs 29.99 pounds, far more expensive than in the us.From where i am,there's no Verbatim(what a shame!)so i have a friend coming from uk who will bring the verbs for me.

But about the discs in my first post which are made by MKM,these i won't be able to use them till i reach Shanghai as delivery of the discs has been made in my another house there(and i'll be there only in mid or end April). But thanks i did not order more,i'll try them once i get my hand on them and if they are good, hopefully if they are still available i'll get some more.

Anyway thanks a lot JoeRyan, you seem quite an expert when it's about media.

Vincent.
