I just bought a Wii last night and I would like to mod it. But the whole Nintendo switching the motherboards has me concerned with which chip will work. I am looking for a simple install so I can play backups. What chip would that be? Thanks.

according to wiikey.cn, they are 100% compatible with the new boards if you do have one of the new models. They are working on the install diagram for the new board right now but they said that it's the same as before except it requires 1 wire.

IMO, the wiikey is the best. I've only had issues with a backup of Pikman 2 (first movie sequence. everything else worked fine) and trying to play the original Naruto GNT 4 (trying a backup tonight).

Everything else works great for me so far.
