Well this is my 1st post Ive been a lurker on the site for a while but never had the need to join because I like to use the search function .. And typically I can find the info that I need .. But not in this case ..

Ill give some brief info on my setup to answer any questions anyone might have ..

My system is ..
XP SP2 W/ all updates
4TB Storage w/ Seagate Drives
(1) NEC-3550a(?) DVD+- Drive
(1) Sony Brand DVD+- Drive
(2) LiteOn LH-18A1P DVD+- Drives (Firm GLOC)

Programs I use for backing up DVDs..
AnyDVD 6.1.3.2
DVD2One2 V2.1.2
CloneDVD2 2.9.0.3
DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15
IMGBurn 2.2.0.0
Nero 7 Ultra Premium Edition

Now .. Im am sure this is NOT A SOFTWARE ISSUE ..

I have been making DVD backups for quite a while now .. and typically I have no problems .. But since I got my new LiteOn drives a couple weeks ago and now I am seeing some problems when i am ripping my retail DVD's ..

This morning I had Bandidas and Fast Food Nation in each of my LiteOn Drives .. I also had ZOOM in my Sony drive .. I was using DVD Shrink on all of the DVDs w/ AnyDVD running in the background ... but once I got ready to actually start ripping the DVD I got an Encryption error on both of the LiteOn drives.. I then tried DVD2One, as well as CloneDVD with the same results.. But, ZOOM was in the Sony drive and it backed up just fine ..

Once ZOOM was finished ripping in the Sony drive I put Bandidas and Fast Food Nation in the NEC and Sony drives and they worked just fine ..

So after they were backed up I was still trying to see why the new LiteOn drives were having Encryption errors .. So I put Fast Food Nation back into the LiteOn drive and had the same problem immediatley after I successfully ripped it on the NEC drive .. So after trying all of my ripping software again .. I turned AnyDVD off and presto magico Fast Food Nation started ripping ..

Now I got lucky that Fast Food Nation didnt NEED AnyDVD to break the encryption .. But I know that other DVDs will need it .. So I am looking for some kind of custom firmware or other fix for the LiteOn drives so that I can use them to rip with the AnyDVD to running ..

I do know that there is a firmware upgrade for the LiteOn drives .. But my nephew is having similar problems with the same LiteOn drives and I upgraded his drives to the GLOF firmware (which is the latest version that I know of) and hes still having the same problem ..

Ive tried searching all over and it seems that there is very little info on this problem and any time i did find something about it the thread was either dead or everyone assumed it was a software or media problem .. Ive tried everything I could think of .. and have decided that it is hardware related and its some kind of conflict with AnyDVD ..

Now I know that there is A LOT that I dont know so any help or suggestions or a fix for this problem would be appreciated ..

I got these drives to speed up my backing up process .. and if I cant use them to rip then they are near worthless since I can only burn on 1 drive at a time and the NEC drive works perfectly for that ..
