hey i was just woundering if a 30 gauge wrap wire is the same thing as 30 awg wrap wire, becuz i read all about the 30 awg wrap wire but when i cheked "the source's" website it said Resin-core soldering wire so i am not sure.


and jsut another question, wut do u do with the electrical tape, do u put it ontop of it or what?

Yes, 30 gauge is the same as 30 AWG. That's the actual wire you use to complete the wired installation.

The Resin-core solder (not soldering wire) is what you use to attach the wires to the WiiKey soldering pads and Wii soldering pads. (Use. .022" diameter solder, it's thinest and probably safer to use for beginners.)

Yes, the electrical tape goes on top of the WiiKey, to prevent it from touching the metal casing and creating a short circut.

ok thx but guys, do i really need the Resin-core solder 0.22" to install the wiikey? becuz i watched a video using wire installation on the wiikey, and they didnt use the Resin-core solder 0.22" and it was a perfect wire instalation.

Well, that's really not recommended. How would you attach the wires to the WiiKey and Wii without solder anyway. Household glue isn't very good at holding parts together inside a console, especially if your console gets very hot and the glue stops working efficiently. And if you use tape there's a very high chance of it coming off, rendering your WiiKey useless and possibly causing a short circuit, frying your console or the chip.

Solder is the best option, since it will be permanent and works very well if done correctly. While tape or glue or anything else might seem like an easier and safer way, it would lead to problems later on in your consoles life.

nvm i just figured out it does have the solder .022"


but one more question, to do the installation do u need the soldering flux?

and if i do need it i apply it on the soldering points on the wii and wiikey rite?
