I have a modded Wii with Wii Key and was wondering if anyone is having the same issues as me.
When I go into Gamecube mode, the controllers don't work. Original game or backups, the controllers simply do not work.
I had someone mod this Wii for me. Anyone know if it is possible that the person who modded it didn't hook something back up correctly? The Wii mode works and all, just the issue with the gamecube controller in the GC mode.
Don't be offended by this incredibly stupid question, but there are some real numbnutz out there who haven't made the slightest effort to read.
You are using gamecube controllers right? The wii/classic controllers don't work for gamecube games. Just want to make sure, I've seen a couple posts where people didn't realize that the gamecube part of the wii is an actual hardware based gamecube, which is why it has separate gamecube memory slots and controller ports on the top.
If you don't have any gamecube controllers, and this is the problem, I highly recommend the nintendo wavebird controllers :)

Yep. Using the actual Gamecube controllers. I read somewhere that the classic ones do not work. Not even for the SNES emulator that's floating around out there. They're only good for purchased games from the Wii Shop.
I bought some Gamecube controllers from Gamestop. They are the Gamestop Brand, but they are brand new. Now I am not even sure if these are problematic, as I haven't seen anything stating that aftermarket GC controllers don't work (Wavebird does, after all).
That would be your problem, the wii has a lot of problems with third party gamecube controllers, quite a few of them it seems do not work at all. Wavebird works because it is also a nintendo brand controller. I would borrow a friends nintendo brand ones for testing, but I betcha that's what the problem is.
It's probably something that wasn't connected back properly when my Wii was modded. I am taking it back to the guy so he can open it up and check. If I had that special tool to take apart the Wii, I'd do it myself, but oh well.....
