I bought a sony KDL-46S2000 720p lcd tv in december. Now whenever i play dvd (upconversion) via HDMI cable i get image smearing, and bluring on movement scenes. I tried changing settings on tv to default, turning all features off, changing dvd player settings, resolution to 480p - same thing happens.
I have tried changing to analog source and same thing happens,
i have digital hd but havent got the chance to hook that up yet (Due to building restrictions). I hooked up my pc and same thing i see the lag.
HDMI cable is 20feet long going through a denon 2807 so i moved the dvd player right to the tv with a 3ft high quality HDMI and same thing happens.
Its most evident when there is a deeper color black on white object moving accross the screen. When there is constant motion its hard to watch, because my eyes try to guess where the image will be next.
I can see a trail of the black image, (such as ones body as it goes accross the screen, it dosent have to be quick for me to see the trail)
i am wondering if there is a problem with the processor, for i have seen tvs do this at stores (such as Westinghouse)
My tv is still under warranty from sony.
what is your opinion on this guys?
should i get it checked out, or is this supposed to look like this?
Anyone ever deal with sony warranties?
when techs come to inspect tv is that paid by Sony?
if found a problem, would they repair the tv, or credit the value towards another sony?
