Hey Guys,
I'm not sure whast going on, i have a wii and i love it but i went to the store the other day and saw the PS3 graphics and i couldnt keep my eyes of it. Why is the wii lacking in graphics, is it CPU speed or is nintendo trying to compact everything. I dont get it. They schould bring out a Wii with PS3 graphics and better.

Wii will never match Ps3's graphics Nintendo Stated 1/1/2 years ago that it will pull back on horsepower to push gameplay oyu might think stupid but to them the dream has come true they are outselling the 360's 4-1 and Ps3 2-1 at the end of Wii's lifetime it will have around 360 graphics right now its better then teh Ps2,GCN and the Xbox.
Remember its only 4 months old.

too bad it doesnt have both horsepower and gameplay, then it would beat xbox 8-1 and ps3 4-1 or something like that.

The graphics on Zelda Twilight Princess are very good. This shows that Wii games have the technology to have great graphics. I bet in the near future we will be seeing more of these great graphics.

Once developers see what can be done and how to juice every last bit out of the Wii, yes, the games will look better. Look at Super Mario Bros and then look at SMB3. Same system. Which had better graphics? Look at Kirby's Adventure for the NES. That looks like it could have easily been early SNES.
Zelda was a very beautiful game. But the same graphics were produced on a Game Cube. It was still jaw dropping (my girlfriend says).
Computers have a ton of power but until it can be coded properly, it's all just numbers.

Since developers are expressing more interest in this system than the last few Nintendo consoles, I'm anticipating more developers who are willing to really explore the system's capabilities, as Capcom did with the RE4 on the Gamecube, making what is still one of the most impressive games of last gen.
However, it is easily stated that while the PowerPC-inspired core of the Wii technically gets more power per cycle than a regular processor; it's still ot comparable to the 360 and the PS3. The Wii will never be comparing with them, unless game developers get really lazy with the 360 and PS3 versions of their games, lol.
Regardless, I'm enjoying the Wii's better gameplay and stronger sense of immersion. My 360 is down, and I'm okay with that, because the Wii is so much fun. Besides, the reason that the Wii is lower hardware, is because they wanted to make it really affordable, and still give you a pack in game. I'm not interested in spending another five hundred dollars for a cutting edge system that will be old in two years, so I'm happy with the Wii's performance.

Coming Soon, Sneak King for the Wii.
Now you can get up close and personal with the King!
ROFL!!!
As for the Wii game selection vs PS3's... They've been out an equal amount of time... So if you prefer one's games over the other, it's safe to say trends may continue. Really though, game preference is just that-preference. I prefer the Wii game selection to the PS3's despite my 42"(I know that's not that big) Sony HDTV; I just don't see games I like on the PS3 yet, and I have looked. I know there are good titles coming. But despite what Sony's big guy has said in an interview, I'm one consumer who isn't going to spend 500-600 on a console to "Invest in potential" or to "buy a brand". I want games I enjoy. I'm sure the PS3 will get them, and at that time I'll consider one. In the meantime there are plenty of those who prefer the PS3's selection, it's all in what kind of experience you are looking for.
And maybe by next Christmas, we'll be enjoying Sneak King on all the consoles, complete with motion detection... After all who doesn't want to get 'personal with the king'? :D

Simply stated,
4gb wii disks < 15gb+ Blu Ray disks.
The bigger the disks, the more graphics are accomodated.
I'm not too impressed with the PS3 graphics. Sure they may look somewhat pretty, but gameplay sucks. With the Wii, at least there is a great abundance of gameplay in their games, which makes it an all worthwhile investment right now.

To each his own but I see it totally opposite, there is is only 1 game on the Wii that interests me and that is Wii Sports. Zelda is cool but it is basically a GC Game. Whereas on my PS3 I have RR7, Resistance, Motorstorm, F1, Virtua Tennis, VF5 and a couple others. Plus I can't wait for other ones like R6 Vegas, Fear, GTHD, MGS4, Lair, GTA4, Warhawk and Killzone 2.

I'm calm.
No, I don't have an HDTV. I don't have a PS3. I do have a Wii. That was one of the main reasons I went with the wii. If you already have a surround sound system and HDTV and want something flashy to put on the screen, then by all means get a PS3. I don't. I want that kinda setup but still can't find a PS3 game that would make me run out and get the system.
I started looking at the Xbox 360 during the release shortages of the wii. I couldn't find anything I really wanted. They don't have great first or third party developed games.
The unique controls for the Wii is fantastic. The games look great even without the HDTV set. I personally can't see myself buying a PS3.

There are some really misinformed and just straight out wrong comments being posted here. First off one guy said the Wii will have graphics comparable to the 360, no, just no, unless your talking about something like Gun witch was a straight port from last gen then no it will NEVER have graphics compared to the 360.
Next up is the guy who said wii 4GB DVD < PS3 15+GB blu ray so PS3 has beter graphics. You are right that the blu ray disc has much more room but you are totally wrong that it means better graphics, no matter the size of the media the hardware inside the console can only produce a certain graphic display. The larger media will create more room for something like CGI movies(but CGI movies suck this gen, in engine movies make the game feel better)or maybe more room for bigger areas but it will in no way whatsoever effect the graphic capabilities of the PS3.

Keyword here:
Preference
But as someone who does have the high def and 6.1 stereo equipment; I still prefer the Wii. But that's not to say I didn't enjoy my 360 as well. I don't think that most gamers can get their complete fix on just one system, which is why with the last batch, I owned all three consoles, in order to get my fix on each (Less on the cube, due to lack of titles); and eventually, when prices go down I may get a PS3 when I see the titles I'll inevitable want, like FFXIII(Even if it is terrible, I have to play it, go figure.) Before that though, I've got to replace my 360 :D
Anywho, the point is, some people want the prettiest games(PS3), some people want a fully inter-connected online play place(360); and others want to indulge more physically in their games(Wii); whatever the case, everyone will continue to have a preference. So far, people aren't getting too heated about this, and I hope it stays that way. It's just important that no one takes this too personally, as it comes down to that wonderful key word:
Preference.

Actually...I looked at this one site, and it said the Wii has a 729Mhz processor or something.

You mean Wikipedia it can be off sometimes a few months back it was in teh news section (round Oct 06) and it said it was a 1ghz i neither belived it until a guy forget who it was posted a link to the iBM Broadway CPU Techcical Data sheet straight out of Ibm have a look you might find it it says all the stuff and it said 1ghz Power PC based Core.
Ultra Low Latency L1,L2,L3 caches.
I'd say Wii has better games right now.
Wii-Wiisports,Zelda,Godfather,Elebits,Excite Truck,SSX Blur,Prince of persia,Warioware,Sonic and the secret rings.
Ps3:

Here is the source:

and IBM datasheet:
http://www-306.ibm.com/chips/techlib/tec....3_5Mar2007.pdf
Unfortunately to those who were hoping Broadway would be clocked at 1ghz, I think you may be dissappointed, as the clock speed is printed on the actual processor, which is 729ghz
http://content.techrepublic.com.com/2347...751.html?seq=60
At least, that's what I've gathered the BWYC-729 stands for. Broadway Core. Something like that?

I thought it was 729mhz but from what people have been saying its 1Ghz, it makes more scence as the cpu also has the ability to limit itself to 485mhz, and thats the gamecube cpu speed, and thats the equivilant to a 700mhz intel chipset.
So maybe what people are saying is although it might be running at 729mhz it actualy performs at intel rate of 1.39Ghz.
Either way i love the Wii look at the gfx on smg.
