I'd assume XFX quality would be the same for both ati and nvidia and at the very least the customer service and warranty (double lifetime warranty if you register within 30 days of purchase) are which make them one of my top choices.

Hello,

All right, so it seems like XFX is the way to go.

What would be a good upgrade for a computer with 8800GTX SLI?

I was thinking of going ATI this time as I don't wanna spend as much money as I did last time on my 8800GTXs.

(I can also use crossfire as I have a crossfire motherboard laying around that I can use.)

I want at least a 40% increase in performance if possible.

I have a GTX280 in one of my Core i7 machines and the cost just wasn't worth it...

if you thought a GTX280 wasnt worth it, then dont bother upgrading then.

the 5850 is just over the GTX285 (Which was an upclocked 280 and smaller nm proccess).

after that a decent upgrade is the 5870, BUT is costs way more than its worth, though its a decent jump form the 5850. and the even more idiotic 5970 which is a powerhouse but its costs is insane and IMO its just not worth upgrading to that.

What would be a huge single card jump over a evga 8800 super clock?
I kinda been drooling for the X2 line of ATIs.

well that is about 4850 power, so you want between a 4870x2, a 5850, a 5870 or a 5970(aka 5870x2)

depends on yuor budget but either of these :)

Frankly after spending 400$ on the 8800 I do not want to spend mroe than 200$ on a video card again 0_o

Damn a shorter span between buying them it seems like such a waste to shell out more than 200 when give it a year that 400$ card is about 200-250 0-o

All right.
Where do you guys find those thermal pads that are on the RAM of the graphics cards these days? Seems like all those pads are falling apart on my cards and a replacement is due. Where should I order these from?
