You can't even say the name of the program at another site and the topic get's locked...........what gives???? I mean let's face it people are going to talk about it no matter how many threads get locked

Depends on where that sites servers are located - they may have to follow different rules.
Forums with servers in the US (and there's probably more countries the same way)- talking about programs breaking copy protection is a no-no and will get them shut down.

Afterdawn for an example used to be able to host downloading software like Decrypter but no longer can due to Finnish law.

On 1st of January, 2006, a new copyright legislation came into force in Finland that made it illegal to distribute tools that allow circumvention of technical copy protections. The legislation was approved by Finnish parliament and was based on European Union Copyright Directive, a law that each EU member state has to implement to their national legislations.

Damn it just dawned on me what ironD is talking about.

But nada, nil, zip has been heard. So my only guess is heavy pressure from someone to squash it or fear of being gone - but that is just my guess.

Hopefully it will come out - usually does - but who knows when.

There is a proper reason we don't mention the name.. The author of the software has asked that we don't. *wink wink*
No matter, some of us aren't going to be told we can't have a tool because "It may be used for piracy"... may?? I don't see anywhere that says we will. That is a matter for the individual, not the government.
What happened to "fair use"? sacrificed to the gods of big business profit by our so called representatives. Did they consult us.. NO.. they have forgotten who employs them, and who they work for.
