Can't hear audio in VDubMod

When I play AVI Files with default players (DivX, WMP) the sound is fine, but for some reason when imported into VDubMod it does not play the audio. This seems to only be with AVI files, mpeg files have sound although very choppy as if the sound is cutting out.

I have XviD and FFDShow codecs installed, is there a setting I'm missing or a confict with codecs?

any help is apprecianted.

Nevermind, I figured it out (sort of).

using regular vdub solved it.
