Its a Pentium 3 933mhz Coppermine CPU with 256kb hiogh speed L2
512mb Pc133 SDRAM
Intel D815EFV chipset
Radeon 9600Xt 256mb
160gb 7200rpm HDD IDE ATA
20gb 5400rpm HDD ata IDE
Samsung dual layer DVD burner
Is this PC worth keeping or just sell it for 100au or give it away?
its an alright PC
It breezes though noraml apps like a Pentium 4 (Word,Media PLayer,Nero,Photoshop)
It runs games like underground 1,2 sims 2,Flight Simulator 2004 all on high setting.
Is it worth keeping though oppinions?

sure, as a back up in case you need one. Usually when buying a new system i just give the old one to a freind or family member who needs it for basic stuff like you described or email and internet stuff.
But if you would rather have some extra cash then sell it.

I could give it but i'd be kicking myself cause it was descent and played alright games

I should take the 9600XT though its a good card.

I Have a Pentium 3 1.2Ghz Tualatin cpu and it is as rock solid since the day I built it. It is now my second computer, but it gets used quite often.
If there is nothing wrong with it then I think you are right to keep it. It becomes real handy if your other rig has issues and you need to access the internet for help.

Tell me about it this one just wont die LOL!,hasnt had a hardware realated crash since bought at the end of 00 since then its been pushed with modern games like sims 2, FS 2004,Underground 1,2,NFS HS II etc and has never crashed on any of them.
Its to dam stable LOL!.

that would make a cracking Linux PC. You can never have enough PC's. i've got only 6 machines in regular use at the moment though still have a few spare. Allows loads of multitasking

dazila,what motherboard are you running? This old ASUS TUSL2-C AGP 2X/4X of mine is as steady as anything I have ever read about. The only thing I wish I knew then as I know now is that because it has the Intel 815E chipset I can't use more than 512 megs of RAM which is a real shame.
I would also like to know a) Can I place a 8x/4x designed card in my 2x/4x AGP slotand b) would I see any improvement with an 8x/4x card due to my 2x/4x AGP slot. This is in case anything happened to my steady ATI Radeon 9200 card.

Zeyf414, voltage is different between a 2/4x agp & 4/8x agp. you'll end up frying something.

Well technically no.
the I815 Chipset runs a AGP 4x (1.5v) slot so most modern cards will run fine as most cards will let you run under either 1.5v or 0.8v so ti wont fry im running a pretty good card in that PC originaly for a 8x slot but it lets you run at 1.5v 256mb Ati Radeon 9600XT AGP which lets most modern games run at medium or even high quality.
The 512mb Ram limit does suck but hey it will get you thought most things these days fine.
if you want a card for your I815 I will gurantee a radeon 9600 or a Radeon 9550,9700 all of them will work perfectly in it you just need a 300+w pSU.
The main downside to the I815 is there is no overclocking...its un overclockable.
Ive read in a PDF you can only chnage memory timmings.
