wiikey died? help?

so I installed my wiikey, and I ran the wiikey configuration disc. I changed the regional settings, and reset. Now the wii operates but the wiikey doesnt seem to work. Even the configuration disc doesnt work now. I havent really moved the wii or anything so i presume the connection points are still intact. What do you guys think? I thought it would be good to get an opinion from multiple people before I opened the wii again and breaking it. Thanks Guys

i would go back to the connection points for sure , there shouldnt be any other reason as to why that is happening other than that
