the dru820a has changed its own region 3 times. once it was the region for africa? it finally stopped showing up in bios, my computer and device manager. os is win xp home. unit was on ide cable as master with 2nd optical drive. tried as master alone. tried as cable select. tried in different computers with various configurations. only consistency is that the dru820a always causes any other optical drive to disappear. dma, not a solution. What the heck? also my dru810 drawer stopped opening on its own. it will only open with the pin. the motor tries, but fails. once opened and a disc is in, it will close by way of the button, then pop right back out...arrrgh!
