Black screen after WiiKey install

So I did my first WiiKey install and after putting the system back together and turning it on I get nothing but a black screen. The power light stays lit and a video signal is being output (I know this because the "No signal detected" notice on the screen goes away). But it just will not boot up like normal. I uninstalled then reinstalled the chip but I get the same thing. I will add pics later, but in the meantime I'd appreciate and ideas as to what could be causing it. As for the solder job I can't see any splashes or bonding of points.

did you plug the little cable in correctly inside the wii??

Looks like the little chip next to the SD slot on the front on the unit came unseated. Popped it back in place and all works fine now... :)
