How to back up a cd(ps1) to a dvd ??

Hey iam trying to backup my old ps1 games in a dvd but the ps2 console is not reading them is says cannot read disc in a black background.
i have a mod chip. thanks

A worthy goal but posted in the wrong forum. I'm not certain that there is a forum for your particular goals but I think that you will have much better luck in the consoles forums.
