advice... Carmageddon on psp

so i ported a copy of my carmageddon for psx to psp
its in a nice 500meg eboot file
it boots and loads cut scenes and start up menu
but when i try to play the game the cars fall through the road
it's like the noclipping cheat in doom..
i am happy that the psp run psx games at all
i know it's homebrew and there are going to be compatibility issues
just wondering if upgrading my firmware might fix this problem or if i'm just out of luck..
i'm running 3.03oe-c

any help would be great thanks for your time
