slow internet problem when playing Warcraft III online

So I'm playing Warcraft III online and I randomly lose internet connection, it really ticks me off. Then the only way I can get back to the internet is to turn my modem off then back on. Is there any way to fix that? Also I hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and under the "networking tabs" it says I have a LAN connection that my internet speed is 100mbs and I'm pretty sure I pay for 500mps from SBC
Is there any way to fix that?
