Wii Mod Language Problem

I bought a pre-modded Wii Jap set...the shop personal told me that when i play a us game it will be english though the set is jap. but when i try playing 'sonic n the secret rings US' it becomes jap..even the voice is jap...so is it because of the firmware in the chip or the chip itself??

Another question is that is there any way to check wat mod chip is installed either den opening the Wii?

You should be able to change the language setting in Sonic to english. It's in the game itself.

Telling what chip you have installed is another thing altogether. Ask the store cleark what was installed. Since mod chips can run in stealth mode, it's kinda hard to tell short of opening it up.
