use high quality as in Verbatim, Ty's,Maxell's Made In Japan. I have Matshita drive in my laptop and it's picky about media.Look in Best Buy or Walmart if in the U.S.

@TOSI - 'fraid that sig pic has to be shrunk slightly, 500 wide x 200 high is the max allowed size

since that drive is not capable of bitsetting (booktyping DVD+R media to dvd-rom), I would recommend DVD-R media. stay away from memorex media because you never know what you're gonna get. try some verbatim dvd-r's from a b & m store or better yet get some taiyo yuden dvd-r's from an online store (supermediastore.com, rima.com, meritline.com).

I personally feel that verbatim makes the best DVD+R media (others will argue that TY does) but all my drives are capable of bitsetting and verbatim dvd+r's are all I use. I do believe TY edges out verbatim by a hair in DVD-R media though.

verbatim is made in taiwan or singapore unless you live in europe and are able to get the verbatim's that code out as taiyo yuden.
