Update #1 8:42pm: I installed the Wiikey...

Soldering kind of sucked as the contacts are really small.

Booted Super Paper Mario burned just fine.

Put console back together super paper mario is not playing. Regular Wii games are playing but not burned games :wtf:

Burning the Wiikey setup DVD now to make sure no wires came out when I put the console back together (I highly doubt it).

I have pics which I will post after I get my Wiikey working properly. :o

I have read that some people had the same issue with Nero so I am going to burn a few games with ImgBurn.

Be back to update this thread.

Update 9:01pm: Broke it all down again and looked at my soldering. Everything is perfect all wires are good.

Tried booting up Super Paper Mario without the case put back on and it work perfect.

:noes:

Whatever could it be?

More tweaking...

More updates to come...

Update 9:23pm: I didn't have a screw seated properly and the casing was crooked. I believe that is what was causing my games not to play. Re cased and seated everything and it seems to be working no problems. Tried Trauma Center and Paper Mario

Another update 11:19pm:Seems as if I have found out my backups only work like 50% of the time. I have to stick the disc in multiple times before it will finally read it. Any ideas?

I am using an NEC-3550a burner with Ridata 8x DVD+R's.

I've tried burning @ 4x and 8x using both Nero and IMGBurn.

First two wires done...the big nodes were the easiest.

Edit/Update 9:29pm - found an extra screw on the table :o

I'm thinking my main problem now must be media.

I have triple checked my soldering job and it is fine. All wires tight and nothing touching/overlapping.

This morning I popped in Rayman Raving Rabbids and it worked fine no problems. I then tried all my other games and they all worked.

Why is it so hit or miss whether or not the games work? Any ideas? I think it has to be a media issue. I'll spend $10 on some Verbatim DVD-R's tonight.

I have a similar problem, but only with Zelda. I have backups of Red Steel, Warioware, and Wii Play and those seem to load fine, though I rarely have played those, so maybe I haven't given them enough chances to fail. Zelda backup however fails 2 out of 3 times. I just turn the power off and on until it loads correctly and it plays for hours fine.

I have successfully performed an update with the Wiikey setup disc.

I am using Verbatim DVD-R burned at 4x with Nero for all the backups.

I get an error along the lines with "There is a problem with your disc, consult the operations manual." The Zelda icon on the Wii menu always loads, it fails only after the wrist strap warning when loading the game.
