Hello, I'm trying to make a backup of my Eternal Darkness game, I have ripped it to my PC just fine, but the backup will not work on my Wii. I've tried shrinked and not shrinked, GCOS multigame disc and on it's own disc, and it always freezes up on the first screen. Anybody else's worked?

What media are you using?
What Speed are you burning at?
try 2x and ritek min DVD-R

You are dealing with exactly the same problem I am trying to solve at the moment.

I have a PAL Wii with Wii Key and hired the PAL version of the game from the video store to copy with my LG drive.

For me when I try the game on my Wii it locks up on the Edgar Allan Poe part whether I am using the copy on DVD-R (TDK burnt at 4x) or the original disk.

I then tried the original disk in my Game Cube and it works fine.

So it seems to be a problem between the modded Wii and the game, both burnt and original.

I am going to take the original over to my girlfriend's house tomorrow and try it on her un-modded Wii. Then we will know for sure if it is a problem with the game and the Wii or just a problem with modded Wii's.

There seems to be a lot of problems with this game even when it was being played on Game Cube when it first came out. I have found reports of both the same and similar problems from way back then.

Exactl. I ripped the original with my LG drive and burned it onto a Sony DVD+R at 2x. I haven't had any other problems with Sony DVD+R. I have a NTSC-U Wii with the Wiikey and it freezes up at the Edgar Allen Poe part.

Well I went around to my girlfriends place and tried the original PAL Eternal Darkness disk in her unmodded PAL Wii and it works perfectly. I played the game for about 10-15 minutes and didn't have any kind of problems.

It would seem that both original and backed up versions of the game, both PAL and NTSC, will not play on modded Wiis. Very strange.
