SUNGWORLD mp4 player hourglass on screen HELP!

THe player is a nano like unit. The unit got an hourglass on the screen all day! I tried letting the unit die its batteries down (since it has built in rechargable batteries) and left it like that for hours... no help. Tried to connected to the PC, which it recognizes but cannot connect to it. I did tried keeping the play botton down for 15 sec and then the forward one as I connect the uint to the PC but nothing either! Can anyone help? The CD does not have any kind of utilities only the movie utility, windows media player and the USB driver for windows98... that is all.

Your help would be greatly appreciated,
